PTFE的摩擦因数随滑动速率的增大而增大,当线速度达到0. 5一1. 0m/s以上时趋于稳定;而且静摩擦因数小于动摩擦因数,将这种特性用于轴承制造,可减小其起动阻力,使之从起动到运转都十分平稳。PTFE的摩擦因数随随载荷增加而减小,当载荷达到0. 8 MPa以上时趋于恒定。在高速、高载荷下,PTFE的摩擦因数低于0. 01。从超低温到PTFE熔点,
其摩擦因数几乎不变,只有在表面温度高于熔点时,摩擦因数为才急剧增大。
由于分子间引力小,PTFE的硬度低,易被其他材料磨损。但是,只要对磨材料表面粗糙度合适,可在相当程度上降低PTEF的磨损量。
